Unpromised.
Standing on the rock strewn shore
She kissed her love and headed for
The harbour lights
He was ferried out to sea
A clipper on the sound there be
Anchored in the night

I値l wait for you
In pounding rain
On misty days
In fear and pain
I値l wait the summers
Winter through
My love my love
I値l wait for you

The rebel cause was not yet won
He would return to see it done
On a newer day
Looking out from the clippers bow
The land he loved his wedding vow
Was all in disarray

He promised
To return again
On sunny days
In hope and gain
All the summers
Winter through
His promise was
Return to you

She waited years upon the shore
To see the ship she yearned there for
She had not forgotten
The marriage bed was still laid out
Faith in her husband still devout
He was her begotten

I値l wait for you
In pounding rain
On misty days
In fear and pain
I値l wait the summers
Winter through
My love my love
I値l wait for you

For days months years he planned
To return reclaim his birthright land
Alas time waits for none
He looked out long across the sea
And dreamed of what he hoped would be
That time was overdone

He promised
To return again
On sunny days
In hope and gain
All the summers
Winter through
His promise was
Return to you

Living out life held apart
Never the ending they vowed to start
Divided by ideals
Each waiting for the others key
That would unlock and set them free
How lonely heart feels

On misty days
In fear and pain
On sunny days
In hope and gain
All the summers
Winter through
A promise was
Unpromised too
